Discovering MORE Positive Education (June 28-30, 2019)

In order to provide an opportunity for local educators to further understand the concepts of Positive Education and to delve deeper into the application of Positive Psychology,  “Discovering MORE Positive Education” Professional Training Course delivered by Geelong Grammar School, Australia (“GGS”) was successfully held on June 28-30, 2019.

This multi-day course allowed participants to be endowed with practical skills and first-hand experience which they can bring back to their own institutions to foster a culture of well-being under the guidance of GGS team. Throughout the plenary and breakout sessions, participants learnt ten key concepts of well-being and some possible teaching practices. A special session entitled “TriVia Evening” is organized for participants to encourage each other after sharing on laughter and tears in their teaching journey. Apart from the interesting brain-break exercise, GGS also arranged a “Physical Training” session for participants to relieve pressure and recharge their energy .

We are grateful for the valuable responses from participants who generally appreciated the contents of the course very much. Most of them reported that the course has assisted them to “reconstruct” mindsets and inspired them to adopt different methods at school. According to the questionnaire findings, 97% of 35 respondents agreed the topics covered were meaningful, and 91% commented that the course was a good or excellent experience to them and would recommend this course to other teachers or schools. All respondents reflected that they intended to apply the skills they have learnt to school or workplace and would share with colleagues and friends.
